Winter Storm Update – February 4, 2026
The Northeast is preparing for another significant winter blast, with dangerous wind chills expected to fall as low as 25 degrees below zero in some areas. Strong northwest winds will push polar air into major metro regions, including Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia, making this upcoming weekend the coldest stretch of the season so far.
The fast-moving system may bring snow and brief whiteout conditions late Thursday into Friday, followed by additional chances for accumulating snow across the Great Lakes and Northeast. Daytime highs will struggle to reach the teens and 20s, while wind chills could drop into the negative teens by Sunday morning across millions of people in the region.

What This Means for Fuel Markets
Most of these regions were already impacted by recent winter storms and were in the process of recovery. Lingering snow and icy conditions remain in place, and this new blast of Arctic air is expected to prolong hazardous travel, slow cleanup efforts, and potentially delay deliveries in affected areas.

Mansfield is actively monitoring this new winter blast and working with local carriers and suppliers to ensure continuous operations. Mansfield will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.
For inventory-managed customers, Mansfield is proactively topping off fuel tanks to ensure adequate supply before and after the icy weather. For call-in customers, please coordinate with your support team to discuss your fuel needs in the impacted regions.
Mansfield remains on Code Orange in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, requesting 48-hour notice for new deliveries.
