Supply Alert – Olympic Pipeline Shutdown – November 24, 2025
The Olympic Pipeline, which ships refined products south from Washington to Oregon, is experiencing a prolonged shutdown of its mainline and segment one while crews work to locate the source of a leak. More than 200 feet of the pipeline were excavated for inspection, and while progress continues, the system is not expected to return to service for at least the next few days.
Supply is tighter than normal in the affected areas, but local storage and alternative delivery methods are providing fuel to impacted markets. Local refineries remain operational and continue to move fuel into the market, along with barge and rail shipments, adding supplemental volume to help meet demand.
The Olympic system is a key 400-mile pipeline that transports gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel from northern Washington into Oregon. Originating in Blaine, WA, the pipeline is a key delivery source for markets in Seattle, Tacoma, and Portland.

At this time, operators have not provided a firm restart schedule. Washington’s governor has declared a state of emergency due to the shutdown’s impact on jet fuel movement into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
Mansfield is working diligently with supply partners to actively manage allocations, source alternative supply points, and adjust delivery routing as needed. At this time, we do not anticipate significant service disruptions for our customers. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and communicate any updates.
