Storm Alert Update – January 30, 2026
Winter Storm Gianna is set to impact the Southeast beginning tonight and continuing through the weekend. The storm will be centered off the North Carolina coast, bringing widespread snow and strong winds from the southern Appalachians across the Carolinas and into southern Virginia, where some areas face a high risk of receiving more than 8 inches of snow. Sunday is expected to be the most impactful day, with the strong winds, heavier snowfall, and an increased risk of coastal flooding.

Mansfield is closely monitoring the system while continuing recovery efforts from last weekend’s Winter Storm Fern. In regions where carriers are already operating, delays may still occur due to icy, hazardous road conditions. Carriers throughout the East Coast are operating at full capacity due to elevated demand and ongoing road challenges stemming from Winter Storm Fern.
Site accessibility remains critical to completing deliveries safely and efficiently. Customers must ensure that lots, driveways, and tank access points are fully clear and safe. Limited accessibility may result in canceled deliveries and additional fees.
Mansfield remains in active preparedness, with around-the-clock customer support and dispatch teams working to address evolving conditions. Mansfield is currently on alert in the following areas:
- Code Red (72-hour delivery notice required): Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
- Code Orange (48-hour delivery notice required): Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Georgia.

Winter Additives
Mansfield strongly recommends keeping cold-flow additives (such as Arsenal ColdPRO) and an emergency reliquifier (such as Red Alert) on site for emergencies.
Mansfield customers can order winter additives by emailing additives@mansfieldoil.com. Delivery timelines will depend on current road conditions and the region. Additionally, due to a sudden surge in demand for winter additives, some products may be temporarily unavailable at the time an order is placed.
In the short term, these products can often be purchased at local automotive or truck supply stores. Note that cold-flow additives can be added as a preventive measure, while reliquifiers like Red Alert should only be used in response to gelled fuel.
