Over $8 Million Raised to Support Charitable Causes
The 33rd Annual Mansfield Cares Golf Classic, held June 4-5 at Reynolds Lake Oconee, generated over $740,000 during the two-day charity event. Helping to achieve this effort were nearly 150 sponsors and 500 golfers representing companies such as CITGO, UPS, and ExxonMobil. The success of the 2019 golf tournament brings Mansfield’s total raised for charitable causes over the past 33 years to more than $8 million.
From golf and Texas Hold’em poker games to a concert featuring the iconic rock band The Guess Who and comedy by comedian Henry Cho, this year’s Golf Classic had something for everyone. It even drew a host of celebrity guests including 2017 NFL Hall of Fame inductee Morten Andersen, former University of Georgia and Atlanta Falcons quarterback DJ Shockley, sportscaster Wes Durham, FOX 5 Atlanta news anchor Russ Spencer, and actor Rad Daly.
It was a wonderful event for a great cause. The Mansfield Energy and Mansfield Cares teams express many thanks and gratitude to all of the supporting companies and participants.
Proceeds from the Mansfield Cares Golf Classic benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association and other non-profits working to improve the communities where Mansfield employees live and work.
Launched in 2017, Mansfield Cares is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that actively supports a broad range of charities across North America including American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Clubs, Junior Achievement, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and United Way. Mike Davino, a twenty-year veteran with Mansfield, serves as the Executive Director of Mansfield Cares and has been key to the success of the annual Golf Classic.
