Mansfield Cares Raises $1.1 Million at 37th Annual Golf Classic
Mansfield Cares, Mansfield Energy’s 501(c)(3) philanthropic organization, announced that the 37th Annual Mansfield Cares Golf Classic, held on June 6-7, 2023, raised a record $1.1 million for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and other charitable causes.
Hosted at the renowned Reynolds Lake Oconee, the two-day event brought together over 540 golfers, including corporate partners and celebrities, who share a commitment to philanthropy. Through their participation, sponsorships, donations, and a spirited auction, attendees made a significant impact for those facing the challenges of muscular dystrophy.
“What began as a small, regional gathering over 30 years ago has grown into a premier industry event that has made a tremendous impact on those in need,” said Michael Mansfield, CEO of Mansfield Energy and founder of Mansfield Cares. “We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity for the 2023 event that enabled us to surpass all previous records and raise $1.1 million for such worthy causes.”
MDA is committed to transforming the lives of people affected by muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases through innovations in science and care. The organization helps fund groundbreaking research for treatments and cures, provides support to families, and works tirelessly to educate and advocate for those affected. The Muscular Dystrophy Association will be the primary beneficiary of the funds raised at the 2023 Golf Classic.
A portion of the proceeds will also be allocated to other local organizations to aid in their community initiatives. These organizations will be invaluable partners in multiplying the impact of the funds raised.
In addition to golf, participants enjoyed a gala dinner, live entertainment, and the opportunity to hear inspirational stories from individuals living with muscular dystrophy. The event served not only as a fundraiser but as a platform to foster understanding, solidarity, and support for those facing neuromuscular diseases.
