Natural gas explosion overnight in Louisiana, no injuries—WAFB reported: Fires are nearly burned out after a natural gas explosion overnight in north Louisiana. News outlets report it started around midnight in Longstreet, near Logansport in DeSoto Parish. Sheriff Jayson Richardson says fire crews were called to Enterprise Products after reports of an explosion early Thursday at an oil and gas site in the area. The natural gas company has closed the line off in both directions, and officials are letting the fire burn out. The site is about 100 yards off the road and there are no homes nearby. Hocol Discovers Natural Gas in Colombia

Kallanish Energy reports: Colombian exploration and production company Hocol announced Wednesday a gas discovery in Colombia, Kallanish Energy learns. The company, a subsidiary of Colombia’s state-owned Ecopetrol, has a 100% interest in the onshore block which is located in the Córdoba Department. The Arrecife well reached a final depth of 10,050 feet and the Upper Oro Ciénaga formation at a depth of 7,173 feet. It found sandstones with natural gas at several intervals of the Miocene geological age formation. During the appraisal phase, production levels ranged between 3 million cubic feet per day and 10 Mmcf/d, with very low condensate content and no formation water production. “This discovery leverages the exploratory strategy of Hocol and its Ecopetrol Group, which continues to strengthen its position as a gas producer in northern Colombia,” said Rafael Guzmán, President of Hocol, in a release.
