Today marks the end of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, a holiday week started by the American Trucking Association. The purpose of the holiday is to celebrate America’s truck drivers, who work tirelessly to deliver goods and materials across the country. Without truck drivers, the world would not be able to enjoy the modern conveniences they have. When the pandemic began and businesses shut around the world, truck drivers picked up the slack to deliver packages directly to consumers’ doors.
According to the American Transportation Association, there are 3.5 million men and women keeping commerce flowing through the US. Accounting for just 1% of the US population, they are integral to our country’s success. Each year, these critical workers transport roughly 11.5 billion tons of freight – more than 70% of all US freight movement.
More than just a faceless component in the economic machine, truck drivers are often a company’s front-line of customer service. Mansfield’s fuel drivers and partner drivers are the ones keeping our customers fueled daily, interacting and providing on-the-fly solutions to delivery obstacles. And when hurricanes hit, truck drivers bring critical food, water, and medicine for those impacted by the storm. Mansfield is proud to fuel our nation’s truck drivers, providing energy and solutions that keep them rolling down the road.
