Winter Storm Alert – February 22, 2026

By Published On: February 22, 2026Categories: Alerts, Storm Season, Weather Alert, Winter Weather

A strong winter storm is forecast to bring up to 20 inches of snow to some Northeastern states late this weekend. The storm, classified as a Nor’easter, will affect much of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The National Weather Service expects significant impacts from Delaware through southeastern New England, with the storm intensifying offshore and producing heavy snowfall, strong winds, and coastal concerns.

The primary impact window is late Sunday through Monday, with the most hazardous conditions occurring Sunday night into Monday morning. Snowfall rates exceeding one inch per hour are possible in some areas, combined with sustained strong winds that may lead to near whiteout conditions, power outages, and dangerous travel. Coastal locations face additional risk from onshore winds and elevated tides, while inland impacts will depend on the storm’s final track and western extent.

Operational Impacts

Mansfield is actively monitoring the severe weather and has been proactively working with customers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure tanks are covered ahead of the approaching storm.

During the winter storm’s impact, heavy winds and ice could prevent or delay fuel deliveries to begin the week. Several fuel carriers have pulled trucks off the road due to hazardous conditions.

For customers with inventory management, our team is proactively topping off tanks to ensure adequate fuel levels before and after the storm. Call‑in customers are encouraged to contact their support team to discuss upcoming fuel needs in areas that may be affected.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and share updates as conditions change.

Preparing Sites during Winter Weather

After a storm, fleets face a host of challenges to resuming operations. One important portion is ensuring they can get fuel safely and reliably.

For backyard tank deliveries, make sure your site is prepared so deliveries can be made efficiently and safely.  Protect Sites From Winter Weather
