For the second consecutive weekend, the Southeast has been impacted by a major winter storm. Following the effects of Winter Storm Fern, Winter Storm Gianna brought heavy snowfall, strong winds, and coastal flooding from the Carolinas to New England.
Snowfall exceeded 10 inches in parts of eastern North Carolina, while northeastern Georgia saw up to 8 inches. Light accumulations extended into South Carolina, coastal Georgia, and even northern Florida. Winter storm warnings remain in effect, and hazardous travel, scattered power outages, and prolonged cold conditions are expected to continue in the days ahead.
Strong winds across coastal regions are further straining carrier delivery operations, as conditions remain challenging. Sustained gusts throughout the day are limiting accessibility and slowing travel in several areas. Mansfield continues to closely monitor the situation and is working around the clock to support safe and efficient deliveries wherever conditions allow.

Given the significant snowfall across the Southeast, site accessibility remains critical. Lots, driveways, and tank access points must be fully cleared and safe for entry. If locations are not accessible, deliveries may be canceled, and additional charges may apply.
It is important to note that carriers, where conditions allow safe operation, are running at full capacity due to elevated demand and ongoing icy road challenges.
Mansfield remains in active response mode, with the following areas currently under alert:
- Code Red (72-hour delivery notice required): South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York.
- Code Orange (48-hour delivery notice required): Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, West Virginia, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.

Winter Additives
Mansfield strongly recommends keeping cold-flow additives (such as Arsenal ColdPRO) and an emergency reliquifier (such as Red Alert) on site for emergencies.
Mansfield customers can order winter additives by emailing additives@mansfieldoil.com. Delivery timelines will depend on current road conditions and the region. Additionally, due to a sudden surge in demand for winter additives, some products may be temporarily unavailable at the time an order is placed.
In the short term, these products can often be purchased at local automotive or truck supply stores. Note that cold-flow additives can be added as a preventive measure, while reliquifiers like Red Alert should only be used in response to gelled fuel.
