Weather Alert – California Wildfires – January 10, 2025
While the powerful Santa Ana winds have drastically died down, wind speeds are still a concern, with gusts reaching over 80 mph outside of Los Angeles yesterday. Five different California wildfires are still blazing as smoke and debris become the two largest concerns for the impacted areas. These wildfires create hazardous air quality, disrupt transportation, and put immense pressure on emergency resources. More than 280,000 utility customers are without power across the state, and communities and infrastructure face additional challenges as they work to mitigate the fires’ effects and ensure public safety.
The wildfires have also disrupted fuel infrastructure, including two pipelines shut down and one fuel terminal, although all carriers remain operational. Minor delays are expected as alternate routes are used to bypass affected areas. Once terminals open back up, they may face operational challenges due to long wait lines. Despite these challenges, Mansfield is working with carriers to maintain fuel distribution, ensuring continuity while managing the logistical impacts of the ongoing crisis.
Mansfield appreciates your patience and understanding as we adapt to these challenging conditions. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as needed.
