Storm Alert – Code Orange – January 18, 2022

By Published On: January 18, 2022Categories: Alerts, Daily Market News & Insights, Storm Season

As Winter Storm Izzy begins to wind down in areas of the south, areas of the Northeast are expected to continue getting snowfall for the next few days. Izzy’s snow and ice conditions have disrupted travel since this weekend, with flight delays continuing at northern airports.

With road conditions improving, fuel deliveries are slowly beginning, though lingering ice on the road may prevent deliveries for some locations. Expect some delays as already tight freight capacity catches up with the backlog of fuel deliveries from over the weekend.

The Northeast has been hit especially hard from the storm, with over 10 thousand without power at the peak, and over a foot of snow recorded in some areas. As the snow and ice begin to clear out this week, the potential for another storm is right around the corner and could be expected to bring the same conditions as early as Friday.

Mansfield is working closely with its DeliveryONE partners, staying in close communication with over 40 carrier partners in impacted zones to ensure customer deliveries are made. Mansfield is moving to Code Orange for northern Georgia up through Maine. In Code Orange markets, 48-hour notice for new deliveries is requested when possible.
