SandRidge Commissions Colorado Natural Gas Plant as Executives Ponder Company’s Future
NewsOK reported: SandRidge Energy Inc. has commissioned a new natural gas processing plant in Colorado to support development in the area while the company’s strategic review process continues, executives said Thursday. Dallas-based Advantage Midstream LLC agreed to build the plant next to and along with its previously announced gas conversion plant. The facilities are designed to help the Oklahoma City-based producer operate in an area that has no natural gas pipelines, SandRidge CEO Bill Griffin said. “As we work toward a long-term solution to get pipe into the basin, we’ve been doing other things, including mechanical refrigeration, which will help reduce the emissions associated with the gas we’re combusting while we’re waiting on the pipeline,” Griffin said in an interview with The Oklahoman on Thursday. Natural Gas Pipeline Exports to Mexico Reach Record 5 Billion Cubic Feet Per Day
Daily Energy Insider reports: Natural gas exports to Mexico by pipeline surpassed 5 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) for the first time in July, following the commissioning of several pipelines in Mexico, according to data compiled by Genscape. Natural gas pipeline exports averaged 4.4 Bcf/d through the first five months of 2018, as compared to 4.2 Bcf/d in 2017. By the end of 2018, an additional four major pipelines identified as strategic in Mexico’s five-year natural gas infrastructure expansion plan are expected to begin commercial operation. These pipelines will transport U.S. natural gas into Mexico’s central and southern regions and provide an additional outlet for Permian production in western Texas. About three-quarters of U.S. natural gas pipeline exports to Mexico currently flow from southern Texas. For more on this story visit dailyenergyinsider.com or click https://bit.ly/2P36hJk
