With Winter Storm Nathaniel now fully past the northeastern US, Mansfield is watching Winter Storm Orlena as it develops in the western US. The Weather Channel is calling for 6 inches of snow this weekend stretching from southern Wisconsin down to Columbus, Ohio. Some areas may see over a foot of snow.
After pummeling the Midwest and Ohio Valley region over the weekend, the storm will track northeast early next week, mixing with a low pressure system to create a Nor’easter – including heavy snowfall and strong winds. These conditions could potentially cause isolated power outages in the Northeast, which could impact fuel terminals. Snow, ice, and heavy winds can also make road conditions hazardous for fuel trucks, delaying deliveries.
Mansfield remains on Code Orange in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and the New England states, and is adding Ohio and Maryland. In Code Orange areas, Mansfield requests that fuel orders be placed 48 hours in advance to ensure sufficient carrier capacity.
