Winter Storm Nathaniel – Code Orange

By Published On: January 25, 2021Categories: Alerts, Daily Market News & Insights, Storm Season

The Midwest and Northeast are preparing for incoming Winter Storm Nathaniel. The storm is beginning to form along the West Coast, bringing some snow from California to Colorado. By Tuesday afternoon, the storm will shift east of the Great lakes into the New England region, bringing 8”-12” snowfalls.

Expect frigid temperatures in some areas by Tuesday night, including sub-zero temperatures in some areas. Chilly weather could cause diesel gelling issues in some places. It may also cause water in fuel tanks to freeze, clogging filters and emulating a gelled tank.

Mansfield is moving to Code Orange as a precaution for Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. Given the storm’s movement eastward, Mansfield is also on Code Yellow for the New England region. Fuel deliveries could be delayed in some areas due to the storm, and hazardous road conditions could limit ability to reach certain fuel sites. Mansfield requests that customers in impacted areas order fuel 48-hours in advance whenever possible to avoid delays.
