Storm Alert – Code Green – Hurricane Laura

By Published On: August 28, 2020Categories: Daily Market News & Insights, Storm Season

Although Hurricane Laura made landfall as a powerful Category 4, the storm’s path and fast trek northward left the region’s fueling infrastructure mostly intact. Despite widespread power outages across Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas, fuel terminals are beginning to reopen, and carrier capacity remains plentiful.

Mansfield is moving all fuel markets to Code Green. While some specific locations may be inaccessible due to downed trees and flooding, most areas can receive deliveries without special accommodation.

Behind Hurricane Laura, two potential storms are traversing the Atlantic with a 30% chance of forming into a cyclone over the next five days. With peak hurricane season just two weeks away, customers should remain alert and prepared for future storm activity. Mansfield will track the approaching storms and notify customers as their progress becomes more clear.
