Storm Update – Hurricane Ian – Level 5 Alert

By Published On: September 27, 2022Categories: Alerts, Storm Season

As Hurricane Ian continues barreling towards Florida, winds and rain have already begun impacting Florida markets. All Tampa fuel terminals are now planning to be closed by the end of the day, and heavy winds are expected by tomorrow which will make deliveries impossible. Orlando terminals are planning shutdowns tomorrow, spreading the outage to a wider area.

Mansfield is moving to Level 5 Alert for Hurricane Ian: Markets show severely impacted truck capacity and delivery infrastructure, prohibiting the safe delivery of fuel products until conditions improve. In addition, Mansfield is moving Tampa to Code Blue, meaning delivery estimates may not be available in some areas. The rest of Florida remains on Code Red. Mansfield is closely evaluating fuel conditions in Orlando and Jacksonville to determine if and when a move to Code Blue is needed.

Given the local fuel supply shutdown, carrier capacity and fuel supply are being pulled from surrounding areas to keep Florida markets covered. For that reason, Mansfield is moving Georgia and the Carolinas to delivery Code Orange, requesting 48 hours for new deliveries.
