Storm Alert – Tropical Storm Elsa – Code Orange

By Published On: July 5, 2021Categories: Alerts, Storm Season

Tropical Storm Elsa is currently moving over Cuba, slowing its forward momentum and delaying its landfall in the continental US. After it passes Cuba, it may strengthen somewhat in the Gulf Coast before approaching the Florida Panhandle.

Elsa is set to make landfall in the US on Wednesday morning as a tropical storm. The US Coast Guard has moved to Port Condition Yankee, ceasing all inbound vessels for ports on the west side of Florida. This will temporarily disrupt fuel shipments into the market. Additionally, winds in excess of 65 mph will disrupt truck deliveries as the storm passes.

Mansfield is moving to Code Orange in Florida out of an abundance of caution. Advanced notice is requested for fuel orders, to ensure all deliveries can be accommodated safely.
