Trump Wants to Make Natural Gas Part of NATO Discussions

The Washington Examiner reported: President Trump wants to make natural gas part of the negotiations on reforming the NATO alliance between European members and the United States. Germany and other NATO members are “buying massive amounts of gas from Russia and paying billions and billions of dollars,” Trump said Thursday before sitting down for talks with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the White House. “So, I think that’s something we’ll be discussing later and we’ll be discussing that at our meeting,” Trump said. It wasn’t clear how Trump wants to use natural gas in his discussions about European members paying their fair share of the alliance’s military costs. However, the Trump administration has been clear that reliance on energy from Russia places Europe at risk of being manipulated through the threat of supply cuts. 3 Injured in North Wildwood Gas Leak Fire

The Press of Atlantic City reported: Three gas company employees suffered burns and multiple fire crews were called to the scene of a natural gas leak that caught fire Thursday afternoon in North Wildwood. At about 4:30 p.m., firefighters responded to the 400 block of E. 24th Street after a contractor reported striking a 2-inch high-pressure natural gas line. North Wildwood Fire Chief Dominick McClain said as South Jersey Gas employees attempted to repair the leak, either the equipment or the rocks around the pipe touched off a fire that shot flames 10 feet into the air.
