Black Hills Corp Proposes 35-Mile Natural Gas Pipeline to Supply Central Wyoming
Daily Energy Insider reported: Black Hills Corp. has proposed building a 35-mile natural gas pipeline to supply about 57,000 customers in the company’s Casper Division in central Wyoming and filed for a certificate of public convenience with the Wyoming Public Service Commission in May. Black Hills Corp.’s natural gas utility Black Hills Gas Distribution, LLC would operate the proposed $54 million Natural Bridge Pipeline. Consisting of 12-inch steel, the pipeline would extend from an interconnection supply point near Douglas, Wyoming, to an existing facility in Casper. “This pipeline, planned to be in service in late 2019, will connect our customers to new long-term sources of cost-effective natural gas,” Linn Evans, president and chief operating officer of Black Hills Corp, said. “The pipeline will also provide additional capacity to ensure that Black Hills can cost-effectively meet long-term peak day demand for our customers in the Casper and Riverton areas of Wyoming.” For more on this story visit dailyenergyinsider.com or click https://bit.ly/2KAVFmW
Renewable Natural Gas Flows into SoCalGas Lines
Kallanish Energy reported: The first renewable natural gas from an anaerobic digestion facility in Southern California is now being injected into natural gas pipelines, Kallanish Energy reports. That news came this week from Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) and waste management company CR&R. Renewable natural gas is a carbonnegative fuel produced from waste that can be used in trucks and buses, to generate electricity, fuel heating systems and for cooking. The renewable natural gas from the digester in Perris, California, is being used to fuel roughly 400 of CR&R’s waste-hauling trucks. “SoCalGas is committed to delivering cost-effective solutions to our customers that both reduce emissions linked to climate change, and keep energy bills affordable”.
