Michael Mansfield, Sr., CEO of Mansfield Energy Corp, is the recipient of the first-ever Muscular Dystrophy Association Impact Award given to an individual. The award and prestigious “white coat” honor were presented during the 2019 MDA Clinical & Scientific Conference on April 15th in Orlando, FL.
Mansfield’s partnership with MDA spans over three decades, having raised more than $7M towards innovations in research and development as well as MDA care services for people affected by neuromuscular disease. “Building service-based relationships is a cornerstone of our family and company’s Mission. Partnering with MDA is as natural as any other important commitment we make,” said Mansfield. “As I see it, Mansfield’s service-to-others mindset isn’t just philosophical, but also highly pragmatic and the single reason we’ve remained relevant in our business for over 62 years,” he added.
The conference was a gathering of the most prominent researchers, doctors, geneticists, and pharmaceutical companies whose work supports the mission of the Muscular Dystrophy Association – to transform the lives of individuals living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases. It was an occasion most fitting for recognizing outstanding champions of MDA’s work to uncover breakthroughs that accelerate treatments and cures so families can live longer and grow stronger.
The Mansfield family’s support of MDA remains strong, and has spread throughout Mansfield companies across North America. “I think about the MDA scientists, technicians, corporate leaders, field staff, and their families often,” said Mansfield. The Mansfield family, company employees, and business partners are proud of their MDA relationship, and believe in the goodness of its mission, creativity, and stamina. “We understand that innovations in science, research, and care matters. We’ve met hundreds of its young patients and we know exactly who they serve and who’s counting on them.”
