Gainesville, GA – April 5, 2016 – In celebration of Mansfield’s thirty-year partnership with MDA, country music star Kellie Pickler will perform live on Tuesday night, May 17th during the Concert on the Lawn sponsored by Fifth Third Bank.
After reaching millions of fans as a finalist during the 5th season of “American Idol”, Kellie Pickler’s entertainment career continues to blossom. She is a chart-topping recording artist; winner of the 16th season of “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC; co-star of the CMT docu-comedy series “I Love Kellie Pickler” produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions; designer of a home decor collection called Selma Drye by Kellie Pickler and inspired by her great-grandmother; and the first announced host of an upcoming daytime talk show to be filmed in Nashville.
In February, Kellie Pickler returned to “American Idol” to mentor and perform with contestants as part of the Farewell Season. Since her Idol experience, Pickler has achieved a successful music career. Her first two albums, Small Town Girl (2006) and Kellie Pickler (2008), both debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. Rolling Stone named Pickler’s third album, 100 Proof, the No. 1 Country Album of the Year. Newsday hailed that her latest album, The Woman I Am, solidifies her longevity in the music industry saying that “Pickler shows how the next phase of her career may be bigger than she ever dreamed.”
The Concert on the Lawn featuring Kellie Pickler and sponsored by Fifth Third Bank will kick off at 7:00 p.m. with remarks from Muscular Dystrophy Association President/CEO Steven M. Derks and inspiring presentations by MDA national ambassadors.
The Kellie Pickler concert will culminate a day of activities for VIP guests that will include a round of VIP golf and dinner as well as a skeet shooting event*. Tournament day is Wednesday, May 18th. It will begin with a continental breakfast at 7:00 a.m., registration at 7:30 a.m., and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. A Hole in One opportunity, lunch and an awards program will round out the 2016 Mansfield Golf Classic.
