FUELSNews Storm Alert: Hurricane Matthew – ORANGE ALERT

By Published On: October 4, 2016

Gainesville, GA – October 4, 2016 – Analysis by Chris Carter – Hurricane Matthew will hit Haiti and Cuba over the next 24 hours as a Category 4 Hurricane, with winds between 130-155 mph. The latest projections have Matthew continuing its path northwest from Wednesday through Friday. Current projections shows Matthew moving up the East Coast over the next week; however, we expect the path to continue to shift over the next week as it moves closer to the US. Regardless of its path, the East Coast will certainly see heavy winds and rain later this week and over the weekend. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina should pay very close attention to this storm. Florida and North Carolina have already declared a State of Emergency in preparation for Matthew.

Mansfield began Hurricane meetings on Monday. Mansfield’s Operations team is currently working to top off customers along the East Coast of Florida up to Charleston, SC, and will expand efforts further north as needed. We recommend ordering fuel well in advance of need, as carrier capacity is currently limited in the region.
